Thumper or Derpro Massage
Thumper or Derpro Massage
How Thumper or Derpro Works?
Our clinic offers treatment with the support of percussion devices to enhance the results of massages.
The devices available use vibrations to warm your muscles, while they increase blood flow in specific areas. The pressure generated by device (gun) will work on tight muscles or may soften scar tissue, which is a great option for quick muscle soreness and to relieve tension.
“The gentle pressure can decrease any tight muscle tissue or soften scar-like tissue, called adhesions. This helps to elongate the muscle fibers.” Dr. Calabrese red more here
The way it works is similar to Tapotement, a rhythmic percussion technique used in Swedish massage, typically performed with the edge of the hand, a cupped hand, or the tips of the fingers. It is designed to stimulate the nervous system and promote relaxation in the muscles.
